2. Which documents govern your use of this site

This Legal Notice works alongside our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Shipping Policy, each linked in the footer. Where a signed quote or purchase order exists between you and thePodiumsStore, that document controls the order it describes, and these site policies fill in anything it does not address.

3. Made-to-order goods and material variation

Our podiums and lecterns are built by hand in our own shop from solid wood, veneered panels, acrylic, and metal hardware. Please understand the following as characteristics of the work, not as defects:

• Wood grain and color vary. No two boards are identical. Your unit will not exactly match a photograph, a showroom sample, an earlier unit, or a digital rendering. Species color also shifts over time with light exposure.
• Wood moves. Solid wood expands and contracts with seasonal humidity. Small seasonal movement in panels, and hairline checking at end grain, is normal behavior in a solid wood piece. We design for movement; we cannot eliminate it.
• Stain and finish. The same stain reads differently on different boards and on different species. Hand-applied finishes show minor variation in sheen and texture. Finish samples approximate the final result.
• Acrylic. Cast and extruded acrylic may show minor surface marks, slight edge variation, and light polishing lines. Acrylic scratches more readily than wood and requires appropriate cleaners — never ammonia-based glass cleaner.
• Dimensions. Stated dimensions are nominal and subject to normal manufacturing tolerance. If a dimension is critical for your space or for accessibility compliance, tell us before ordering and we will confirm it.
• Screen color. Colors shown on your monitor or phone are approximations and will not precisely match physical material. Request physical samples before committing to a stain or color on a large or multi-unit order.

4. Configured and custom orders

Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

Once you approve a configuration and we begin cutting material, changes to dimensions, species, color, or features may not be possible, and where they are possible they will be quoted as a change order and may extend your lead time. Deposits on custom orders are non-refundable once material has been purchased or production has begun, because that material was bought for your unit.

You are responsible for the accuracy of dimensions, artwork, spelling, and other specifications you provide or approve. We build to the information you approve. Proof your artwork carefully — a misspelled church name routed into a solid oak front panel cannot be undone.

Accessibility compliance. If your podium must meet ADA or other accessibility requirements for reach range, knee clearance, or height, tell us before ordering and confirm the requirement in writing. We do not certify compliance unless your order expressly specifies it.

5. Customer-supplied artwork and logos

If you supply a logo, artwork, text, seal, or emblem for engraving, routing, printing, or inlay, you represent that you own it or have permission to use it, and you agree to indemnify us against any claim that our use of it in your order infringes someone's rights. This applies to institutional seals, denominational emblems, athletic marks, and corporate logos. We may decline any artwork at our discretion.

6. Intellectual property

All content on this site — product photography, text, designs, drawings, video, and the thePodiumsStore name and logo — is owned by Ecommerce Integration LLC or used with permission, and is protected by U.S. copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use it commercially without our prior written permission.

Third-party names, brands, and trademarks appearing on this site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.

7. Pricing, availability, and errors

Prices and availability are subject to change without notice. Lumber and material markets move.

Despite our efforts, this site may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in pricing, descriptions, dimensions, availability, or lead times. We reserve the right to correct any error and to cancel or refuse any order placed at an incorrect price, even after the order is confirmed. If we cancel such an order, we will notify you and refund any amount charged in full.

8. Not professional advice

Content on this site — including anything we publish about wood species, finishes, acoustics, accessibility dimensions, electrical integration, or installation — is general information offered in good faith, not professional design, engineering, electrical, or code-compliance advice. Do not rely on it for structural, code, permitting, accessibility-certification, or safety decisions. Consult a licensed professional for your situation.

9. Electrical and lighting components

Units supplied with integrated lighting, power outlets, USB ports, or other electrical components are assembled with listed components for standard North American 120V service unless your order specifies otherwise. Any modification, rewiring, hard-wiring, or installation work performed by anyone other than us voids any warranty on those components and is done at your own risk. Have permanent electrical work done by a licensed electrician.

10. Third-party links and services

This site links to third-party websites and uses third-party services, including Shopify for hosting and payment processing. We do not control those sites and services and are not responsible for their content, availability, practices, or terms. A link is not an endorsement.

11. Warranty and limitation of liability

We stand behind our workmanship. Any express warranty on a unit will be stated in your written agreement or invoice. Except for such express warranty, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, this site and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ecommerce Integration LLC, its members, employees, and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site or from any product purchased through it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the product in question.

Nothing here limits any right you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be waived.

12. Care and use

Our units are intended for normal indoor use as lecterns and podiums. Damage from misuse, outdoor exposure, standing water, direct sustained heat, prolonged direct sunlight, improper cleaning products, extreme or uncontrolled humidity, overloading, unauthorized modification, or improper moving is not covered by any warranty. Podiums are not step stools, work benches, or ladders. Care instructions ship with every unit; following them is what keeps a podium serviceable for decades.

13. Accessibility

We want this site to be usable by everyone. If you encounter a barrier to accessing any part of it, email sales@thepodiumsstore.com and tell us what happened and what you were trying to do. We will get you the information or complete the transaction another way, and fix the barrier where we can.

14. Governing law

This Legal Notice and your use of this site are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Wake County, North Carolina have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from this site, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own jurisdiction.

15. Changes to this notice

We may update this Legal Notice at any time. The current version is always posted at thepodiumsstore.com/policies, with the effective date at the top. Continued use of the site after we post a change means you accept it.
